About the office: The Cedar County MU Extension Center provides information and educational opportunities in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, natural resources, business workforce development, community development, human and environmental sciences for both adults and children.  We are known for programs such as 4–H, Show–Me– Select–Replacement Heifer Program, Missouri Show Me Quality Assurance and Missouri Master Gardeners.

We offer classes throughout the year on a wide range of topics. In addition to our classes and programs people may also receive individual assistance from any of our regional specialist.  Our livestock Specialist is here to assist you with all your livestock and pasture management questions.

The 4-H Youth Program Associate manages the 4-H program in Cedar County which currently has 150 members enrolled into 6 Clubs. Our 4-H Shooting Sports program is definitely the highlight of our program. Nearly half our members are enrolled in a shooting sports project which includes archery, shotgun, rifle, pellet, air rifle and pistol disciplines. Members compete individually and as a team and can even try out for the State 4-H Shooting Sports team and compete on a national level.

Our Nutrition Program Associate, teaches health and nutrition classes to children and adults throughout the year in our schools, farmers markets, senior centers and WIC at the Cedar County Health Department.

Our office also provides services including Private Pesticide Applicator training and licensing, soil testing, plant and insect identification, pressure gauge testing and sell a variety of publications. We are also a correspondence testing center.
